Warm Homes Fund – First time central heating funding opportunity

Suffolk’s local authorities have been successful in being awarded a substantial grant from the Warm Homes Fund, which was set up using part of the proceeds from the sale of National Grid’s majority stake in its gas distribution business, to fund both mains gas and oil fired central heating systems to over 500 households over the next three years.
The purpose of the funding is to help fuel poor tenants on lower incomes heat their homes more efficiently.
With the change to the minimum energy efficiency standards for private rented properties, this is a good way for landlords to improve the energy rating of their properties with financial support from the Warm Homes Fund.
