At the ELA, our goal has always been to provide landlords with the knowledge, support and connections needed to navigate an ever-changing sector. As the private rented sector continues to evolve, staying informed has never been more important.

That's why we're excited to invite you to our upcoming events, which offer a mixture of practical learning, industry insight and the opportunity to connect with fellow landlords from

across the region.

Prepared for Change

The biggest event on our calendar this autumn is Prepared for Change, taking place on 17 November 2026 at Prospect House, 2 Rouen Road, Norwich. The event will bring together industry experts to help landlords understand the challenges and opportunities ahead.

The private rented sector is currently experiencing significant change. From proposed legislative reform to financial pressures and evolving compliance requirements, landlords are facing important decisions about the future of their businesses.

To help landlords prepare, we've brought together a fantastic line-up of speakers:

  • Larking Gowen will discuss the financial affairs of landlords and the key financial considerations landlords should be thinking about.

  • Foster Solicitors will explore setting up a tenancy following the Renters' Rights Act and the legal implications landlords need to be aware of.

  • The ELA will share what we've learned so far regarding the Renters' Rights Act, what we believe landlords should be preparing for, and what changes may be coming next.

  • Norfolk Integrated Housing and Community Support Service (NIHCSS) will discuss how they can work alongside landlords to help support tenants and sustain successful tenancies.

During our recent video recording promoting the event, Sean and I discussed a key theme that keeps coming up in conversations with landlords: uncertainty.

Many landlords are asking the same questions:

  • What will the Renters' Rights Act mean in practice?

  • How will future changes affect my portfolio?

  • What support is available when tenants need additional help?

  • What should I be doing now to prepare?

Prepared for Change has been designed to help answer those questions and provide practical information that landlords can take away and apply immediately.

One aspect we're particularly looking forward to is hearing from NIHCSS. The ELA has always supported initiatives that help provide stable accommodation for people across Norfolk. NIHCSS are keen to build stronger relationships with landlords and demonstrate how support services and landlords can work together to create positive outcomes for tenants while maintaining successful and sustainable tenancies.

Just as importantly, this event isn't simply about listening to presentations. It provides an opportunity to ask questions directly to the speakers, network with fellow landlords and discuss the real issues affecting the sector today.

Help Shape the Event

We're keen for this event to focus on the topics that matter most to landlords.

If there's a particular issue you'd like to see discussed, whether it's the Renters' Rights Act, compliance, finance, tenancy management or anything else affecting the private rented sector, we'd love to hear from you. We'll use your feedback to help shape the discussions and Q&A sessions wherever possible.

ELA Members' Christmas Party Night

Party Night!

Once the hard work is done, it's time to celebrate!

Join us for the ELA Members' Christmas Party Night on 10th December 2026 at Barnham Broom Hotel, Spa, Gym & Golf Club. This festive evening is a fantastic opportunity to relax, network and enjoy the company of fellow members as we round off another busy year.

We're delighted with the interest we've already received, and places are booking quickly. As capacity is limited, we would encourage anyone planning to attend to secure their place as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Whether you're a long-standing member or have recently joined the association, we'd love to see you there for what promises to be a fantastic evening of food, entertainment and networking with fellow landlords from across the region.

Don't leave it too late - places are limited and are expected to sell out.
